Data deletion instructions

These are the instructions for deleting personal data that Respio holds. They apply to people who messaged a business that uses Respio on WhatsApp, and to business users of Respio.

If you messaged a business on WhatsApp

The business you wrote to decides what happens to your conversation; Respio processes it on the business's behalf.

1. Ask the business. Tell the business (for example in the same WhatsApp chat) that you want your data deleted. Its team can delete your conversations and customer record in Respio.
2. Or ask us directly. E-mail info@respio.io with the subject "Data deletion request" and include:
   • the name of the business you messaged,
   • the WhatsApp number you wrote from (or, if you used a username, that username).
3. We may ask one question to confirm the request is yours. We then delete, or have the business delete, your messages, your customer record, notes, handoff summaries, callback requests and support tickets about you, and confirm by e-mail.

Bookings stored in the business's own booking system are kept by that business; we pass your request on to it.

If you are a business user of Respio

E-mail info@respio.io from the address you sign in with, naming your workspace. We delete your user account, or, if you ask, the whole workspace with all its conversations, customers, documents and settings.

Timing

We confirm receipt within a few working days and complete deletion within 30 days. Copies in backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle. Records we must keep by law (for example invoices) are kept only for as long as required.

Facebook and WhatsApp login

Respio does not offer "Log in with Facebook". If you contacted a business that uses Respio through WhatsApp, the steps above delete the data Respio holds about you. Data held by Meta is managed in your WhatsApp settings.
